ALISON - SUNSHINE COAST
Alison and I had the best month together in Australia. I didn’t know the young 19 year old who was too shy to speak English. By the time she left to go home she could speak to me with no problem. (went to France and year later and she was too shy to speak English again. She isn’t now thankfully. I haven’t learned how to speak French yet. I keep meaning to. I need to be immersed I think. One day Alison.
GREAT OCEAN ROAD
I have been along the Great Ocean Road many times. This was a trip with Pete and Brennan. I will add any other GOR images I find into this post.
RANDOM IMAGES
Just looking and finding more images that I have on hard drives. Not sure how many images I will find for this post but the first one deserves to be on here as a favourite.
KILCUNDA, VIC. NIGHT AND DAY
Pete and I took the pups for a walk last night and then I took them this morning while he was at work. It is such a beautiful place. I am going to miss that beach. If only they had the climate that would only get as cold as today.
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, USA
I don’t know where my US photos of the trip to Seattle is. I found these few photos of a shoot we did that my idol Val Spring arranged for my friend Sue and I did. It was a dream to learn from Val.
GRASSE, FRANCE
Our family were one of the first people to populate Grasse. They are the Cresp family. I need to go back one day.
CALANQUES WITH ALISON
In April 2016 I went to see Alison for the first time after she visited me. I miss her so much. Looking back on these photos reminds me of how many great times we have had together.
MONTANA, WYOMING AND IDAHO
I flew over to Montana to shoot Kylie and Dave’s wedding. Jean, David, Kylie and I had a drive through Yellowstone and back to Butte. It all seems like such a long time ago. When I talk about it, it feels like I am not telling the truth. The US blows me away. It is so gorgeous. The images are not in order.
GREAT OCEAN ROAD 2018
Pete and I had a beautiful trip in 2018 along the Great Ocean Road. It is a great drive with beautiful surprises.
A ROAD TRIP WITH ALISON TO VIC 2015
My beautiful Alison came to Australia to meet me in 2015. We fell into a beautiful relationship of mother and daughter so naturally. I have been so lucky to have seen her 3 times since then. I love you Alison and miss you so much. When I started to get upset about leaving each other in Sept 2019 she said don’t be sad. Be happy that we can see each other. Now if the virus could go away so we can see each other again, I will be so happy to see her in Australia!!!
ABERDEENSHIRE, SCOTLAND
I took these photos around 10 or 11 years ago. I loved living in Scotland. I really miss it and I miss my friends there. Will I get back there? I am not sure anymore. I better get my camera working for me again!!!
MORE RANDOM PHOTOS
I had a blog loaded and got sidetracked of more random photos….looks like I am going to spend another day searching for them. We are 5 weeks away from leaving Vic and packing all of our belongings away for the indefinite future. It could be months, it could be years. I am so excited for the unknown. We are so close to going and now all the places we wanted to go to are flooding! They said it is the worst flooding in 60 years. The poor people being affected. I hope they aren’t waiting for years for insurance claims like the hailstorm in Springfield Lakes last October.
LAST YEAR….WHAT A YEAR
As I typed this I realised that my loves in the UK and France are still living in Covid-19 times. It feels like a bad dream here and I only think about it when I got to the supermarket or Bunnings. I was isolated from everyone it seemed. Seeing Leanne the first time after lock down was hilarious. Her opening the door and looking frazzled was just what I needed to see for a big belly laugh. We are going to miss them when we leave. I hope they find time to follow us at times and have a holiday. Life is about making memories. We have made friends down here and I love the beach at Kilcunda. This post will just be photos that I loved in 2020 that I can find sitting on my desktop. We have 41 days before Pete has no job. We aren’t sure when we are leaving here yet. We are getting the bus in tip top condition and trying to work out what car we are taking with us and where we are putting our other car and our belongings. Sometimes there is so much to do. It is overwhelming. Thank goodness we have already got rid of all the stuff we don’t want anymore !!! I am visualising driving away from here and feeling happy with what we are doing.
JO - NOOSA HEADS, QLD
Jo is the daughter that I wish was mine….so I share her with her Mum in NZ. Look forward to more adventures with Jo when we move into the bus in just under seven weeks and head north.
NOOSA HEADS
When we lived in Coolum Beach we were always at the beach. I found that I loved photographing surfers. A few of these images have Pete in there too. I will do a post of Jo Brebner soon.
MY AMISH EXPERIENCE, USA
I was so lucky to have spent 24hrs with an Amish family. A friend in Kentucky was friends with the family and she exceeded any dream of had of meeting Amish people. The last few photos are of the little boy trying to catch the horse. He didn’t end up keeping the horse under control. I had to share lots of them to tell the story.
CALIFORNIA, USA, OCTOBER 2012 ..NUDITY IN THIS POST..
I met Gail through a photography workshop I did called Finding the light. She worked for Detra. I not only did a course the I thought was great but I met Gail and Stacy (she is in a future blog of when I went to Illinois to see her again). I call Gail my angel because whilst I was on my way to the US I had a devil of a woman cause me to have a panic attack. (she was very good at doing that to people). I would have been a wreck if Gail hadn’t have been the angel to care for me. Gail worked in a very special field and told me what was going on. Anyway enough of the ugly part, even though that will always be what bonded us together. I had a beautiful time with her, Mike (who gave the best hugs) and Mac who loved cuddling up to me. Stacy flew in from Chicago to meet us and spend time with us. It was great especially the naked bike riders!!! We went to the place where butterflies migrated to (if they is a thing) and saw the redwood forest. I don’t know where I put those photos. I don’t know if I will ever get back to the US, maybe one day. It is a gorgeous country. We saw so much and had such a great time together, looking back on the photos makes me want to go back. Gail is now in NZ. Pete and I went over a few years ago to see her ever so briefly again.
I LOVE THE ANTICIPATION OF A TRIP AND WHAT I WILL SEE.
OK NEED THE STORY TO THIS. STACY AND I WERE WALKING ALONG THE STREET WHERE THE PIERS ARE. I SQUINTED, CRANED MY NECK. WERE THEY NAKED? GOT THE 70-200MM LENS UP TO MY EYE. I SAID STACY THEY ARE NAKED. I AM GOING TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON. SHE SAID NO!!! TOO LATE. I WAS OVER THERE IN A FLASH. I ASKED THE GUY WITH THE BOWLER HAT ON COULD I ASK SOME QUESTIONS? I WARNED HIM THAT MY EYES MIGHT DROP DOWN. HE LAUGHED. I SAID AREN’T YOU SCARED TO GET ARRESTED. HE SAID IT ISN’T ILLEGAL IN CALIFORNIA. EVERY MONTH THE CITY HAD A NAKED BIKE RIDE APPARENTLY. WHO KNEW? WOULDN’T IT BE GREAT TO FEEL SO COMFORTABLE NAKED!!!
WONDER WOMAN AT KILCUNDA, VIC
Wonder Woman had a lovely time at Killy today. She got caught out by a wave, had a brilliant, happy time and then a March Fly decided to bite her. Poor little love. The conditions were too perfect for the biting beasts.
